Empowering Black and Brown families to dismantle current punitive systems, end cycles of violence, and protect the integrity and sanctity of our families and communities.
We envision a world free from punitive systems where families are provided with the resources they need to grow and thrive.
We are a collective of advocates and organizers who have been impacted by family policing.
We are dismantling punitive systems and building safe and sustainable communities through advocacy, community care and movement building.
Our Reparations Zine is a radical call to action, built from the wisdom and experiences of Black and Brown families fighting back against the violence of child welfare. Through participatory research, we’ve gathered stories, art, and community-driven visions for repair that challenge the systems designed to harm us. This zine isn’t just about imagining a world free from punishment—it’s about building one. It’s about rejecting carceral logic and centering the voices of those most impacted to demand justice, healing, and the reparations we are owed. Together, we dismantle, rebuild, and reclaim.
After a year of dedicated research, planning, and community engagement, we are proud to present our Reparations Report. This report is the result of rigorous analysis, historical examination, and thoughtful recommendations aimed at advancing reparative justice for Black families. Through data-driven insights and firsthand accounts, we highlight the lasting impact of systemic inequities and outline actionable steps toward meaningful restitution.
At B.L.U., we believe in transforming advocacy into action, and this report serves as both a roadmap and a call to action for policymakers, institutions, and community members committed to justice. Join us as we push forward in the fight for reparations and equity.
Your support will enable us to build power among system-impacted communities.
